"D3 Gear" beta is live on Windows Phone

It looks like Microsoft finally worked out the kinks in the app submission and certification process (read), and now "D3 Gear" is live for testers! The app is definitely rough, but functional. And there is lots more on the way, so watch for updates.

If you are a tester, please click HERE from your device to download.

If you want to become a tester for D3 Gear (and future Windows Phone apps), be sure to email support@jpitta.com with the Microsoft account associated with your phone.

A new coat of paint

Tada! Take a look around. I know there isn't too much to see right now, but jpitta.com has a new home and some new tricks. Nothing about the current design is in stone, this is just the first iteration. Please drop any feedback about color scheme and layout in the comments.

My favorite new thing - there is now a mobile site! Go ahead. Try it. You know you want to.

I'm Back! Who Missed Me?

Yes, I know. It's been a long time. There was much personal craziness since the last time I posted, but that's long since taken care of and things are great once again.

In development news... there is a new Windows Phone app on the horizon! During my break I had plenty of time to reacquaint myself with my gaming hobby, and found Diablo 3 along the way. Well Blizzard just released their public API for Diablo 3 data and I thought it would be a fun project.

It is tentatively titled D3 Gear - yeah I know... If you have better name suggestions drop them in the comments below. D3 Gear will allow you to pull career and hero data for any battle.net account provided you have the full BattleTag (this means the name and the id#. If you play Diablo 3, this should not be a surprise). You can see all kinds of interesting statistics, as well as the complete stats and equipment loadout for individual heroes. Here are some images of the work currently in progress...

The more observant of you may have noticed the placeholder ads. Those are there because this app will be released for FREE! Aren't I nice?

If you are interested in beta testing D3 Gear, send an email to support@jpitta.com (yup, thats a shiny new email address too!) and leave me your Live ID/Microsoft Account. It is imperative you send the ID used to sign in with your phone, or the beta download link I'll send you WILL NOT WORK. Be on the lookout for a site redesign as well in the coming weeks.

It's good to be back! If you are reading this - Thanks for sticking with me!
